At noon on August 19, “From the Laboratory to the Market,” written by Alvaro Ossa, Director of UC’s Tech Transfer Office, and published by Ediciones UC, was officially launched.

How do you turn research findings into a high impact product? What role does the intellectual protection strategy play in the success of this process? How do you start science & technology-based ventures? These are some of the questions this new book tries to answer by drawing on the experience of Catholic University and national and international case studies.

“This book discusses tech transfer and the role of science and technology in the development of Latin American countries,” explains the author of the book, which will soon be available for sale in hardcopy and digital format.

With more than 15 years of professional experience, Alvaro Ossa is a Civil Industrial Engineer graduated from the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María and holds a master’s degree in Management of Technological Companies from the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI) Madrid, Spain.

“From the Laboratory to the Market” is geared towards innovation enthusiasts. It aims to provide support to anyone seeking to translate their research results into goods or services that have an impact on people’s lives, either by transferring them to companies or institutions or by creating technology-based enterprises,” said Ossa.
