Travesía Silvestre (Wild Voyage)
Summary
Forests, steppes, riverine and lake systems are all examples of the protected temperate ecosystems in Chile making up the 59 units comprised under the National Wildlife Protected Areas (SNASPE), covering nearly 13 million hectares of land or 17% of continental Chile.
Being unfamiliar with our own territory is one of the main problems when it comes to implementing wildlife protection campaigns in these territories.
Travesía Silvestre (Wild Journey) is a board game consisting of with strategy cards set in the Chilean temperate forests that was designed to teach players about wildlife but from the species’ perspective, by showing the players what these species must do to overcome real-life obstacles. The board game is meant for use by sixth graders in school contexts and for players of all ages in leisure and entertainment contexts.
