Summary

The Family in Primary Care Study Tool (FST) is a structured instrument designed for use in the development of family studies in order to provide health professionals with clinical practice guidelines on the basic elements to be considered when conducting family assessments aimed at determining user needs.

The Family Study is a clinical strategy designed to conduct an advanced characterization and assessment of a family group in the context of health care.

Having a well-founded strategic plan based on in-depth knowledge of the family is a key  component in carrying out promotional and preventive care interventions, establishing diagnoses, and setting courses of action for managing and treating different health conditions (and diseases), as well as rehabilitation or associated palliative care.
